TCU returns just 4 players that saw significant minutes last season, but coach Eric Specht & staff(Lori Angelino & John Schmiesing) which of the newcomers will get those varsity minutes and perform efficiently.
The Titans finished 10-17 last year and had a couple other potential victories slide through their fingers. It is hopeful this season to improve on the overall record, along with program growth and improvement.
Seniors looking to help lead the Titans to a successful season are Dani Angelino (6.5ppg/6.5rpg), Courtney Hentges(8.3ppg/4.2rpg) , & Sarah Holicky(5.5ppg/5apg). Sophomore Joslyn Vargo had a very good freshman season holding her own. She is the leading returning scorer from last season at 9.7ppg.
Team strengths this year will definitely be senior leadership and a good amount of team quickness. Lack of height and some limited depth will be hindrances to work through as the season starts. The Titans will also need to be more consistent shooters.
Play in the Minnesota River Conference is always tough, this season Watertown Mayer & Norwood Young America appear to be a few of the early front runners. The Titans would like to be in that mix or at least in the top half of conference finishers this season.
As far as Section 2AA goes, St Peter looks tough in the South half. TCU would like to be seeded high enough to land another home game for the senior team members as an early post season goal. The Titans seem to be in good hands with a devoted coaching staff looking to help improve the program.
Coach Specht will be counting on the younger girls to take the next step in order for the program to continue to move forward.
