Coach Tim Herman in his 11th years coaching will be looking to re-stock his Heritage Christian squad this season. After a 21-7 overall record last season and loss of many solid players over the last 2 seasons, this year’s squad will initially lack some experience.
Two starters will return to help with the growing. Sophomore CJ Woda & Junior Tanner Scott will be the experience players the other guys will lean on.
One huge loss for the Eagles will be the absence of Jr Josh Dart who is lost for the season due to torn labrums in both hips. Kids like Ben Suits (SR) , Jack Vender Top (SO), Tim Thurston (SO), Zach Johnsen (SO), Ben Allen (FR), & Noah Pieper (SO), will be asked to grow and fill in all of the spots that are vacated.
The positives are that these kids are a hard working and committed group with a nice amount of talent. Aside the experience factor, depth could be an issue this season initially, but will be built.
Maranatha Christian is seen as the likely MCAA conference favorite that the Eagles and everyone else will chase. In the section Maranatha & Minneapolis North seem to be the main contenders there early on to reach the state tournament.
