Doug Linton has been coaching at New Life Academy for 15 years. Last season’s impressive 20-6 mark brings great enthusiasm to the NLA program again this year.
NLA won the conference showcase and also were South Division champs of the MCAA last season. They bring back many key players and several from a JV squad who only lost twice in 2013-14.
Returning players include Conrad Engstrom, Jake Wynia, Sam Horner, Ty Frazier, Luke Berger, Simon Killeen, Eby Ketema, Brad Goulet, Thomas Gunderson & Danny Boatman. If this group defends and rebounds the basketball, they will be a tough team to beat.
A conference repeat this year is possible & potentially a conference tourney title. As part of Section 4AA, NLA is in the mix with some very good teams like St Croix Lutheran, St Paul Academy, Minnehaha Academy, Concordia Academy & Minneapolis Roosevelt. The boys are a hard working group and will compete hard each time out.
