After 5 seasons in Rosemount, Coach Bryan Schnettler is beginning a new job as the head coach of the Wayzata Trojans. He & assistants Josh Peltier & Jake Dammann inherit a pretty young squad, but there is a nice amount of talent there too.
The Trojans return Johnny Beeninga, Ty Gelinske, Troy Louwagie, Brenden Broady, & Gavin Baumgartner from last year’s team. Also a number of kids from the successful lower level squads will have a great opportunity to be contributors .
Last year’s squad finished 8-18 overall with a majority of their games against Lake Conference opponents. Coach Schnettler will look to his guys to hopefully improve on the record, but more importantly improve their games daily as well as doing well off the court so that a team culture can be built for years ahead.
The Lake Conference favorite this season will be Hopkins & Champlin Park seems to be the early frontrunner in Section 5AAAA. The Trojans will work on goal setting in November & strive to meet a lot of those goals so that come March everything is lined up to complete a successful season.
