Coach Willie Braziel begins his second year heading up the Bloomington Kennedy Eagles program. Coach Braziel lost 10 players off of his 17-10 squad from last season. It will be a season of building the next group of young birds to follow suit.
With just one starting player coming back there will be a lot of teaching in the early months of the season. Coach Braziel wants to stress the fundamentals of becoming a team to his new squad. This season will be geared toward getting chemistry and becoming a team of learners.
Kennedy is part of the new Metro West Conference, which houses the likes of arch rival Bloomington Jefferson, Chaska, Chanhassen, Richfield, St Louis Park, BSM, & Robbinsdale Cooper. BSM is a strong contender to lead the pack, while Chaska & Chanhassen have quality teams you must not overlook.
Section 2AAAA play is always competitive and this season looks as if as many as 5 teams are capable of winning a berth to state. Depending on how the conversion to those fundamentals and chemistry discussed earlier, we’ll see if the Eagles a part of this group or not.
