Joe Burger begins year two as Edina head coach. Plenty return from last season’s 14-12 squad to provide scoring from all five spots & give the Hornets a competitive squad.
Sophomore Walt McGrory brings back a 14ppg average & is tough to guard at times. He and SR Ben Boone will be starting their 3rd season of significant varsity time. Max Lynch brings back 9ppg/8rpg & provides shot blocking skills as well. Others expected to contribute are SR John Swanke & JR Will Moreton.
Section and Conference teams are similar during the season. Coach Burger & squad have to deal with Hopkins, Eden Prairie, & Minnetonka twice each. These are favorites for conference title and section, but throw in Robbinsdale Armstrong as a Section contender too.
Defense and rebounding are the two key components for Edina to brush up on this season. This will need to be addressed heavily should the Hornets want to be any part of what looks like to be the toughest conference and section in the state.
