Coach Ben Starns begins year two as the head coach of the Patriots following an inaugural season record of 10-17. Expectations to be better record wise are likely, but how much better depends on the degree to which the younger guys step up and fill roles.
Four main letterwinners will return this season and lead the charge. Hunter Larson, CJ Borleis, Connor Davich & Jack Kreitz are the guys who Coach Stearns will lean on to build up the skills of the youth on the roster. Larson was a main scorer in quite a few games last season.
Looking at the season, there are always some good teams the Patriots face. Crosby-Ironton match ups are always marked on the calendar by both squads as it always has section implications. Perham and Pelican Rapids matchups are always ones to look forward to as well. C-I & Hawley are early leads on being sub-section favorites coming into the season. Detroit Lakes is a tough conference foe each year too.
