Ben Haugen begins his second season as head coach of the Titans. Coach Haugen has brought a toughness factor to the squad that continues to grow as does the potential to be a good basketball team.
After a 10-12 opening year together, this year’s team has hopes to be both conference and section contenders. Despite lacking some size, there is enough experience and athleticism returning to make these hopes be achievable.
Three seniors & 4 juniors will be the main core of Titans looked upon to get the team out of the gate right. A tough opener with Waseca will be a good gauge to what needs to be done going forward. Jamison Buelke, Charlie Simonette, & Kelly Nordling will provide senior leadership. Juniors Carter Rynda, Keegan Oak, Jackson Feedema, & Sam Ehlers head the junior class of kids expected to contribute.
Assisted by John Rynda & Jamie Nelson, the Titans will look at a very balance and wide open conference race. Teams like Mayer Lutheran, Jordan & Belle Plaine will be very good competition in the Minnesota River Conference. Section squads like W-E-M, NGREG & Maple River are good teams who’ll be having post season dreams of making it to state much like TCU.
Expectations are high for this squad and nothing short of 100% effort will be expected from this group night in and night out. TCU is a budding basketball program under some good leadership who understands what it takes to build a winner.
